Classical Guitar Repertoire Series (Click titles to see a description of collection, table of contents and sample music.) Right-Hand Preparatory 15 pp. $14.95 21 Right-Hand Arpeggio Exercises in First Position Introduces the chord shapes Am, E and Dm. Intended to prepare right hand for solo playing and chord accompaniment. The 21 studies have been identified as the most used in beginning solo repertoire music. It is possible to use this book before note reading.
12 Duets in First Position (Same music as Book 2 Solo in Repertoire Series, but written in 2 single-string parts) Students will be ready for this once they have learned the notes in first position on all six strings. Before playing the trios, try playing these duets. They are fun and are also standard guitar literature which will prepare for solo playing.
Book One Solo from Repertoire Series 16 pp. $14.95 A Sequenced Series of Guitar Solos As the reading skills improve and the 21 studies in the “Right-Hand Preparatory” have been completed, it is time to introduce solo playing. These solos are the “arpeggiated” style as opposed to polyphony. It is an easier way to approach early solo guitar playing.
Book Two Solo from Repertoire Series 15 pp. $14.95 A Sequenced Series of Guitar Solos Same music as Duet Book One but in Solo Format Once Book One is complete, it is time to move to Book Two. This book introduces polyphony. It is the same music found in the “Duet Book One.”
Gasper Sanz from Repertoire Series 14 pp. $12.95 A Sequenced Series of Guitar Solos of Early Baroque Music This is a logical collection of music to begin solo playing. Most pieces are written in two-part polyphony, are interesting to play and sound more complex than they really are.
Robert DeVisee from Repertoire Series 16 pp. $14.95 A Sequenced Series of Guitar Solos of Early Baroque Music This collection is intended to follow the completion of Gasper Sanz. Three and four-note chords are introduced. These pieces are more challenging than the Sanz collection, and ideal for developing chordal reading For more information, email Bill Swick at: BillSwick@msn.com |
